Privacy Policy

Effective July 12, 2026

Roost is a family organizer. This page explains, in plain language, what information it keeps and who can see it.

What we store

  • Your account: your email address and a securely hashed password.
  • Your household's data: whatever your family puts in — member names and profiles (birthday, phone, and optionally height, weight, allergies, and prescriptions), chores, reminders, appointments, shopping lists, devices and vehicles, points and their history, babysitter notes, and the medication log.
  • Notifications: if you turn them on, a push subscription for that device so alerts can reach it.
  • Support messages: anything you send through the Support form, along with your account email so we can reply.

Who can see it

  • Your household. Roost's roles decide what each member sees — parents see the most, kids and babysitters see only what's relevant to them, and per-field "Display to Household" switches let each person limit their profile details.
  • Us. The people who run Roost can technically access stored data for maintenance and support, and we treat that access as a last resort.
  • Nobody else. We do not sell data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics of any kind. Data is only shared with the services that make Roost run: Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting and email delivery), and Resend (sending account emails).

Children

Kids' profiles and accounts are created and managed by their parents. A child's sign-in is bound to their own member profile and sees only their own chores, points, and shared family info.

Cookies and tracking

Roost uses no advertising cookies and no trackers. It stores sign-in tokens and device preferences (like your theme) in your browser's local storage, which stays on your device.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account any time in Settings → Cloud Account → Delete My Account. If you're the last account in your household, the household's data is deleted with it. To have specific information corrected or removed, or for anything else, email support@homeroost.net.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect.
